Tips For Your "Green" Wedding

First, welcome to "Green Wedding Solutions™" where your host Sherwood Martinelli will share thoughts and resources for those wanting an environmentally friendly wedding event. We each need to do our own small part to solve Global Warming, and a green wedding is a great place to make a contribution to a cleaner, greener world.

We are not suggesting bridesmaids dressed in green (though I am fond of that particular color), but rather you make as many green decisions as possible in planning your special day. To that end, here are a few suggestions to get you started in planning and Earth Friendly Green Wedding.

* Use recycled paper for your invitations, or better yet design your invitations and send them out via email. Imagine the paper (and money) saved in sending out email invitations, and accepting your RSVP's via email.

* Consider providing transportation from the ceremony to the reception or asking your guests to carpool to the event.

* Instead of favors on the table, consider making a donation to an eco-friendly organization or giving each guest a small tree or package of seeds.

* Use china and linen rather than throwaways.

* Recycle wherever possible.

* Hire an organic cater...the Green Restaurant Association™ is a great place to find Green Certified restaurants that can help with your catering needs.

Celebrating your wedding with global awareness, planning a green wedding day is a satisfying earth friendly way to begin your life together and taking even one small step to go "green" will help our environment, and contribute towards solving Global Warming.
